Keep your Bike Secure

Getting around by bicycle is a great way to stay fit and it's good for the environment too! However it's no fun if it get's stolen.

Read on for some important advice from the Security team to protect yourself from bike thieves...

  • Ensure you use the secure cycle shelters to leave your cycle (you should visit Maxwell reception to have your ID card upgraded to allow you to do this). Not sure where the cycle shelters are? Here's a list:
    1. Next to Clifford Whitworth Library
    2. At the side of New Adlephi (next to Chapman)
    3. At the side of Newton (next to New Adelphi)
    4. At the side of Peel (opposite Newton)
    5. Maxwell building (down the ramp at the rear)
    6. Mary Seacole building
  • Use a quality "D" lock. The sports centre sell them at £10 each and are much cheaper than local stores! Here's what a D Lock looks like:
