Who we are

USSU is the representative body for all students at the University of Salford. We work in partnership with the University and other stakeholders to ensure that all students love their life at Salford.  

However, we are more than that. We are different. We’re led by five Student Officers who are elected from our membership each year. The students’ union is professionally run but we support these five students to create the change they want to see at their University. We support over 500 student course representatives and provide professional advice to around 2000 students each year. The students’ union also encompasses championship winning sports teams, over 70 student societies, events drawing thousands of students, campaigns, a wellbeing app as well as a café, a bar, and a nightclub.

Student Voice Coordinator

We are currently looking to fill the role of Student Voice Coordinator to join our expanding student voice team at USSU. The purpose of the post will be to support the election, training and success of Course Reps in participating in the quality assurance and enhancement process in the University, as well as enabling Course Reps to make a positive impact on the lives of their fellow students.  The successful candidate should have enthusiasm and drive, be well organised and a team player.

Student Opportunities Coordinator (Volunteering)

Technical Assistant – Events Team

Starting Wage: £8.77 per hour – Minimum 8 hours per week

 

Who are we?

We are a  democratically run charity, led by elected student representatives who work to represent our members academic interests and to make sure their University experience is the amazing, life changing experience it should be. We are independent of the University and work entirely for our members. Our aim is to help our members love their life at the University of Salford.

What’s the job?

Our Events team is looking for enthusiastic technical staff to deliver our services in the commercial spaces of the Students’ Union. This will include regular events in Atmosphere, large events on and off-site and coordinating technical facilities for students and external bookings.

Who you are

You will be an enthusiastic, organised and solution-focused individual with a passion to improving events for students. This position will provide you with excellent experience to work in an events and live music environment.

We encourage applications from current student – this is a part-time position that will have regular shifts alongside adhoc shifts dependent on the events occurring at that time.

Team Salford Activators

September-May 2018/19 Academic Year

What’s the job?

Activators are required across a selection of sports to implement new activities for the academic year 2018/19 at the University of Salford Students’ Union. These new activities are to be integrated and sustained within the Give Sport A Go and Campus League programmes. The purpose of the Activator roles is to increase participation in sport and physical activity at the University of Salford Students’ Union through the development, implementation and delivery of opportunities to both staff and students. Our Team Salford Activator role comes complete with an Under Armour kit package, FREE University of Salford All Inclusive Gym Membership or the contribution towards the membership of any sports club, activities club or campus league programme. You will also be offered a discount card on products from Atmosphere Kitchen & Bar and much more.

These roles are ideally suited for students looking to gain valuable experience to enhance employability opportunities. The roles will involve delivery of the activity, on-going administrative work, promotion and with supervision, budget management. Activators will be required to work up to 7 hours each week during the academic year (Semester 1 and 2). We currently have several Team Salford Activator positions available across a wide range of activities.
