Hey, I’m Jess, your new Health and Society Sabbatical Officer for this academic year! I’m also working on completing my undergraduate degree in counselling in my spare time.
During my time as a student at Salford, I spent 2 years as a student volunteer. In my second year I was a Course Rep, and during third year I was School Rep for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I absolutely loved my time as a student volunteer and hope that lots more students will continue to take up these roles!
During my spare time, I spend a lot of time watching puppy training videos and training my puppy (a little border collie). You might also catch me with my head buried in a book – usually reading it intensely as I can’t put it down!
I’m delighted to be your Health and Society Sabb this year and want you to feel comfortable to email me, call me or pop in to see me in person (when COVID allows, of course). One of my main objectives this year is to help reduce the amount of students that graduate late as a result of not completing placements, so if you have any ideas of how to help me in with this feel free to email me for a chat!
