Student Group Committee Member of the Year Shortlist

Have a look below for who got nominated and a small extract from their nomination.

Ciaran Fahey (Shock Radio)

Ciaran has shown extreme dedication to Shock this year. He has rebuilt the studios twice between the move to and from Maxwell and has stayed in the studios overnight a number of times to ensure they are up are running for the following day. Ciaran cares a lot about the members of Shock and always makes as much effort as he can to ensure people feel welcome and included in the society. He has always been a reliable committee member, being available when needed and sometimes goes even further than his role to make sure the society stays in good shape.

Ruth Goldacre (Snow)

Ruth has really stepped up this year and taken on a huge role of Vice President after only one year on Salford Snow prior to this. She has held the society and committee together on various occasions, and often been the level headed committee member to rationalise all our thoughts. She has also competed 3 times this year for the club, placing 2nd in her first freestyle ski competition in February. She is your all round great committee member and there could not be a more deserving person to be the recipient for this award.

Lucy Graves (Women's Football)

She ended up having to have surgery on her ankle and had to learn how to walk again on her ankle. Even though all of this happened she would turn up to every game and training session and help motivate us. She even coached sometimes because of the bad situation we had with our coach. Even though she was heartbroken that her injury ruled her out for the season I don't think we would have won the league without her. Lucy is everything I could have asked for and more from a chair!

Megan Loughrane (Dance)

Megan is an amazing person to work with. She has not only a a committed person of the dance  committee but she has been an amazing choreographer for the whole year! During isolation she can choreographed many dances for us all to still get involved in and bringing dance back into our lives. Megan is the most down to earth committee member here at SUDS. She is an approachable person who is willing to take time out of her own time to help you pick up routines or generally make you feel involved in the group.

Rees Parry (Almost Famous)

Rees has been a spectacular chair for the society this year, proving that his calm, cool and collected way of dealing with things has had a fantastic effect both on his fellow committee and the society in general. He is a down to earth, caring person who has put his heart in wanting the society to excel and constantly giving opportunities for everybody to fell comfortable and be in a place where they can have fun as well as put on good quality shows. He has been one of the many driving forces of this years sheer success for Almost Famous.
